How much do you pay for your education


In adult education, you pay registration fees calculated based on the rate per lesson hour of the module. How much you pay depends on the course. In certain cases, you may qualify for reduced registration fees.

In addition to the registration fee, a center may also charge costs for course materials.

 

Additional General Education

At CVO Brussels, you can obtain a secondary education diploma. In addition to a diploma-oriented vocational training, you also follow the Additional General Education (AGE) course. For this course, you pay 0.03 euros per lesson hour. For AGE, you cannot apply for a reduced rate.
The premium for Second Chance Education still applies: if you pass your diploma-oriented course, you will get your registration fee (for AGE and vocational training) reimbursed.

Literacy Modules & Learning to Learn

If you take additional literacy modules or "Learning to Learn" as part of your course, you pay 0.03 euros per lesson hour. You cannot apply for a reduced rate for these modules.

Vocational Training in Structural Shortage Professions

In a course with a structural shortage character, you pay 1 euro per lesson hour, unless you qualify for a reduction in registration fees. In that case, you pay no registration fee.

You pay 4 euros per lesson hour for these courses. No reduction in registration fees is possible.

Dutch as a Second Language (NT2)


Dutch as a Second Language (NT2) courses have different rates.

The fee for an NT2 course depends on your place of residence and the level you are following.

Do you live in Brussels?
Then the lessons for levels 1 and 2 are free. You only pay for copies or the textbook.

General rates:

  • For level 1 (Breakthrough & Waystage), you pay 1.50 euros per lesson hour of the module. You pay a maximum of 180 euros. This is not time-limited and applies across school years.

  • For levels 2, 3, and 4 (Threshold, Vantage & Effectiveness), you pay 0.60 euros per lesson hour of the module. You pay a maximum of 300 euros per course per semester.

Based on your status, you may qualify for a reduced rate or a full exemption from registration fees.
